Easter Egg hunt

On Saturday, we thought we'd help teach Owen about the real meaning of Easter. . .with an Easter egg hunt. (joke) The Savoy Rec Center put on a small egg hunt at the park by our house. We woke up much cooler temps, so we bundled up and headed to the park (we did errands after hence driving not walking). Owen couldn't decide if he wanted his cow basket or sock monkey, so he took both.
We got there a bit early, so we played on the swing while the park filled up with lots of other kiddos. It was really funny, because a guy came up to us and said, you guys look really familiar. Turns out, he was our wedding photographer (well, the second in charge along with his wife). They have a little guy, Henry, who's Owen's age. It was fun to catch up with him.
Then, all the kids lined up and got ready to "hunt" the eggs.  Really, they just threw a bunch of eggs out in the field so it was really easy to find them.
He completely got what he was supposed to do.  The only problem was the egg to kid ratio.  He got 4 eggs.  Total.  And then his new "friend" Henry didn't get any.  So Owen shared 2 of his eggs with him.
Afterwards, the Easter Bunny was making her rounds. I thought Owen would be scared, but he said "hop, hop, hop" and went right up. Adorable right. Wait, take a look at the bunny face. I think it's time for a new bunny costume, Savoy. That rabbit is SCARY.
Since we're likely not driving over for Easter this year, Owen got to open his Easter gifts from my mom.  He loved his chocolate bunny, his first Memory game, sidewalk chalk, tons of magnets (which have been all over our doors, dishwasher, etc this week), and the most amazing Thomas sticker/coloring book.  Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for a great Easter packages!
