Pinned It Did It Monday {car seat cover and sausage soup}

Sorry for you Google reader readers who had this pop up earlier unfinished.  Owen was having fun on Mommy’s computer. :)  Anywhoo, welcome to Pinned It Did It Monday where I show you some of the pins I’ve actually done from Pinterest.  Hope you can find them useful or inspiring.I got asked a few weeks ago to make a car seat cover for baby Claire.  I said sure and then prayed I could actually pull it off.   Luckily, Claire has the same car seat as Ellie, so I could make sure it fit as I went!

My pictures: My review:  I am so in love with this.  If Ellison wasn’t going to a new car seat soon, I would totally make her one.  It blocks the wind without being too hot like some of the blanket covers.  And it’s just stinking cute.  Her tutorial is easy to follow.  I added the “C” and flower embellishments.  This was the first time I added bias tape to anything.  That’s the cute pink edging around the cover.  I used this and this tutorial for help and this one for learning how to “stitch in the ditch” which makes for a beautiful finished edge.  I totally forgot to take a picture ,but the underside is all pink.  Darn.  Oh well.  Love the fabric combo and am pretty happy with the new sewing skills I had to acquire for this one.  Let me know if you need a car seat cover made! :)I was looking for a soup that didn’t involve chicken as I was chickened out.  And came across this one that included sausage.

My review:   Delish!!  Pretty easy to put together and had great flavor without being spicy.  Owen likes sausage so even he enjoyed it.  Definitely a keeper recipe!

Small Group Christmas Party!

Friday night was our small group's Christmas party!  It was such a fun evening with some great people!  We just adore our small group peeps this trimester.

my kids are growing up

Just a super short post to say my kiddos are growing too fast.  Owen is a rock star on the potty and I'm almost ready to try nighttime.  He also loves to fit in some reading whenever he can.

 

And guess who went to the nursery this past Sunday and childcare during Mom2Mom?  That's right, this girl.  I went and checked on her several times, and turns out, she didn't need me. {tear}  No really, I was super happy that she did awesome.  Looking forward to actually hearing the message on Sundays and enjoying my mom friends at Mom2Mom!

 

Caden is 3!

Last Saturday, we had the privilege of helping Owen's friend Caden, celebrate his 3rd birthday.  The party was held at The Little Gym.  I've heard awesome things about this place, but we've never been.  And the rumors were definitely true.  He had a blast!  They did a great job facilitating large group times and games and then the kids got to go play.  Then they would all come back together for another game and then get to go play.  Very fun!

Owen seriously was a little crazy kid there.  I honestly have never seen him so crazy. He didn't follow directions or listen.  Just ran around doing what he pleased.  Even Holly wondered what got into him.  This made me wonder if he was so in love with this place that we should bring him back.  Or if I should stay far far away.  After all the fun play time, we got to enjoy cake and watching Caden open presents.  Happy birthday little man, we love you!!

Last Sunday, I got the brilliant idea that we should put up lights on our porch. We did it last year with garland so it should have been extra easy this year as the garland was already wrapped with the lights. But nothing is ever easy is it. After they were about half hung up we decided to check the lights. Dope, half of the strands weren't working and we could not find a single replacement bulb anywhere. So the lights and garland came down. Maybe next year folks. But it was a beautiful day out so here's some pictures of the kiddos playing. Owen discovered the dirt pile and we literally had to drag him inside after a few hours. He was so happy.
