more crafty fun

I had a fun order a while back that finally got in the mail this week.  K ordered 13 plastic tumblers and vinyl on them for all different things.  A couple for her girls, 6 for her kitchen/deck, and some for friends.  They were super fun to design.  There was a train, monogram, fairies, baseballs, robot, flags, and more.

I have lots of these guys left "in stock" so let me know if you'd like to order one!They are 16 oz tumblers and I have them in acrylic or a more plastic material and both are BPA free.  I can pretty much make any design you want! :)  PS - see through cups are hard to photograph.
And she also had another challenge for me.  She sent me a picture and I recreated this little hat for her daughter's coming home outfit.  My first little baseball hat.  Cannot wait to see it all together!!

Happy birthday sweet girls!

This week I got to do some crafting for 2 of my friend’s girls.  The first was for Natalie’s 6th birthday!  Her request was a sock monkey hat!IMG_0115Picture 522The next day was sweet Nola’s 2nd birthday.  What?  Where did that time go?IMG_0149Picture 523And lastly, my friend Mandie is due with a little girl in May.  She ordered my set of bows called “A Year in Hairclips.”  It features a bow for every holiday throughout the year.  :)  IMG_0133 And a few headbands as well:IMG_0134 I love making projects for friends and being able to pray over the recipients of them.  And thank you ladies for helping me fund my kiddos’ birthday party!

Pinned It, Did It Monday

pinned itWelcome to pinned it, did it Monday (it’s still Monday for a couple more hours here) where I share a few of the things that have inspired me from pinterest this week.pin #1 L asked for a sock monkey hat for her daughter and I had been itching to try this cute pattern:

My picture:IMG_0115My review: I love this gal’s patterns.  They are easy to follow and always produce nice results.  I made a mistake that I realized towards the end and had to rip a bunch out, so the hat took about twice as long as it should have.  But that was totally my fault.  Love how cute it is and hope it fits the recipient!pin #2I had seen this pin floating around Pinterest for awhile.  It’s a site dedicated to making healthier and “real” versions of a bunch of kid’s processed foods.  Now, let me preface that I probably have frozen corn dogs in my freezer somewhere and do not feel the least bit guilty for giving them to my boys.  But I decided to dip my toe into the water of healthier cooking.  haha

My pictures: the ingredients (I didn’t go all crazy and buy new corn meal, mine is supposedly no good nor did I buy aluminum free baking powder. I just used what I had on hand.)Picture 470 right after frying:Picture 472My Review:  I’ll admit to not being a huge corn dog fan.  But I must say, these were pretty darn good!  I have no idea how she got her batter to look so nice and smooth.  I cut the batter recipe in half and it made 5 corn dogs.  It was pretty quick, and after frying I just heated them in the oven for about 10 minutes to get the hot dog nice and hot.  William definitely approved!  I think I’ll be checking out some of her other recipes!pin 3Since starting my “diet”, I’ve been eating lots of chicken and using my George Forman a lot!  This was a cleaning tip I found.  The tip reads: “Right after using the grill, unplug it and place a wet double-sheet of paper towel between the lid and the surface. The leftover heat causes the towel to steam and clean the grill. Wiping it dry with another paper towel is all that’s needed.”

My Review (no pictures):  While it wasn’t perfect, it was DEFINITELY less scrubbing than I normally have to do.  Will be doing this on all future grilling!

Have a great week everyone!

My picture: IMG_0077 My review: such a cute hat and it was a VERY simple pattern!  Perfect for a Mickey Mouse baby shower I was attending. pin #2I’ve been on a recent kick to update my makeup a bit and buy some more “grown-up” products.  But I don’t really have the budget to overhaul everything.  Enter this site.

My Review: Amazing site for finding cheaper versions of expensive makeup.  Used it to buy the eyelid primer pictured and a new lipstick this week.pin 3

My Review: a short video on how to tie this cute scarf.  I used it this week but didn’t get any pictures.

Pinned It, Did It Monday! {hat, recipe, and kid ideas}

pinned itWelcome to Pinned It, Did It Monday.  It’s still Monday for a couple hours right? :)  I’ve decided that if I’ve done something from Pinterest this week, you’ll hear about it.  If not, I’m taking the pressure off myself to get something posted!pin #1I was looking for a cute new pattern for by great friend, Sara’s new baby (yet to be)!  I saw this and fell in love.

My Pictures:  Of course my pictures aren’t as cute but I love it!
IMG_9884IMG_9886My review: Pretty easy pattern to follow although the flower took a few emails to the pattern owner.  I made the flower a little smaller as I’m not sure Sara would appreciate such a huge one.  Can’t wait to make this pattern in a different color for Ellison.pin #2Picture I pinned:

My review: Great!!  Simple recipe and I’m always looking for ways to spice up chicken breasts.  I served it with mashed potatoes and corn and it got good reviews all around!pin 3
I’m always looking for easy, fun ideas for Owen (and Sam when he’s here).  This gal has a printable for every month with easy ideas to do that month.  There are lots that I was like, duh why didn’t I think of that!?

We haven’t done any of these yet, but looking forward to just having a few more ideas for these cold indoor months.

Pinned It, Did It Monday {potty training, monster hat, & iPhone}

pinned itWelcome back to Pinned It, Did It Monday where I show you some of the things I’ve actually done from Pinterest.  I haven’t been on Pinterest much just due to busyness, so I’m trying to go back and look through all the pins I marked way back when I first learned about this online peg board of amazing ideas.pin #1Picture I Pinned:
Source: My thoughts and tips on potty training from Memories on Clover Lane
My Review: No pictures for this one as I just posted them yesterday. :)  I read LOTS of things on potty training.  This was one I enjoyed.  Short and sweet and right along the way we’ve been doing it.  Good tips.pin #2Picture I Pinned:

My PicturesIMG_8835 IMG_8837IMG_8846IMG_8825My review: I’ve been wanting a fun “boy” hat and this really did the trick.  It was a great pattern, even for a beginning crocheter.  Owen loved it and wouldn’t take it off.  Wish I would have put my horns a little closer together, but oh well.pin 3I’m always a sucker for pins that simplify my phone and teach me some new cool tricks that it can do.

My review: no pictures of course.  But I learned a couple new tricks for my operating system that I didn’t know before.  Primarily the one that’s in the picture.  Love being able to text back quickly to a phone call or having a reminder to get back to a phone call quickly.
