Since St. Patrick’s Day is on a Sunday this year, you better believe I’m cooking up something cute and green for my kiddos to wear to church in a couple weeks. This was Owen’s onesie on his first St. Paddy’s day: This past week, I made this little headband for a friend, but I think I’ll be making another one for Ellie. It’s also in my Etsy shop if your sweetie needs one. :) I have this cute little clip on there too:
This week I got to do some crafting for 2 of my friend’s girls. The first was for Natalie’s 6th birthday! Her request was a sock monkey hat!The next day was sweet Nola’s 2nd birthday. What? Where did that time go?And lastly, my friend Mandie is due with a little girl in May. She ordered my set of bows called “A Year in Hairclips.” It features a bow for every holiday throughout the year. :) And a few headbands as well: I love making projects for friends and being able to pray over the recipients of them. And thank you ladies for helping me fund my kiddos’ birthday party!
Whew, bad blogging week for me. Sorry folks, going to try and catch up today and tomorrow while we’re in Peoria and I have a few extra hands to help.
This past Thursday, Ellie and I went to a baby shower to celebrate this sweet little girl, Claire W (picture stolen from her mom’s facebook page).I sadly took no pictures of the shower, but wanted to show off the girly cuteness I made for her. A “C” onesie, headband, and matching bib. And of course every little girl needs some headbands and clips! Welcome to the world little Claire!
Good Monday afternoon to you all. Welcome to Pinned It, Did It Monday where I attempt to show you some of the things I’ve done from Pinterest, not just “pinned” to my boards. This week has been crazy, so just 2 small ones for ya today.I’m always looking for adorable, easy headgear for Ellison. And this one looked super sweet. Picture I Pinned:
Source:DIY Jersey Baby Headband from Kelli Murray My pictures:My review: If you can thread a needle and you have a hot glue gun, you can do this one. No sewing machine needed. Super fast (10 minutes or so) and so cute. I might have to rummage through my closet for some old t-shirts to make some more!I’m always love a good idea for Owen. This site is chalk full of them! This idea is for glow sticks in the bath tub. Picture I Pinned:
My review: I got a pack of glow sticks from the dollar store. Threw them in and turned off the lights. I think he would have stayed in there all night. He LOVED it!! We hid them in cups, twirled them really fast and made them into bracelets. I will definitely be keeping a pack of these near the tub for those days he doesn’t want to get clean! So fun!
I realized that before I give you the fill tour, I needed to fill you in on one more little project. . .Ellison’s bow board. This thing gets used every day because yes, she rarely leaves the house without a bow. :) I made this board using things I already had so it was “technically” free!
I used an old bulletin board that I wasn’t using any more. I hot glued a piece of fleece over the cork, so the board was even with the frame. Does that make sense? Then I stretched pink fabric over the board and hot glued it tightly to the back. The ribbons were all from my baby sprinkle and were on gifts. I measured and glued them evenly on the back of the board. The little rolled flowers were used from leftover sheets that my mom used to make her little pad on top of her window seat. I added a little pearl to each one and done! All hung up.
I bought the flower hooks years ago at World Market. I’m talking like for my first apartment in 2003. But I never hung them up. But I also couldn’t get rid of them. I always thought they’d be so cute in a little girl’s room. And ta-da. Perfect for holding all her headbands. Not sure what I’m going to do after making all her bows for winter outfits. I’m going to have to make a second board!
I am a 30 something stay at home mommy who lives in a great city in the middle of lots of cornfields.
I have 3 amazing kiddos, Owen (4), Ellison (2), and Miles (brand new). I love Jesus, my amazing hubby William, and our dumb orange tabby cat. I couldn't live without Diet Coke, snail mail, sushi, the color pink, my hot glue gun.
